Extra! Extra!

in the news today....
I have to admit the CIA scandal that has been doing the rounds these past few weeks hadn't really registered on my radar. However I was intrigued after I saw the White House press secretary Scott McClellan squirming when asked by David Gregory as to why the White House was shifting its stance on Rove and the Bush administration's handling of the matter.
Clearly the administration knows that this is a quagmire it is finding increasingly hard to control.
Its plain and simple; certain people in the Bush camp are just more equal than others and the president will do whatever it takes to keep it that way.

You got the time, guv?

One of the books on my must-read list is 'The Awakening of Intelligence' by Jiddu Krishnamurthi.
I was recommended Krishnamurthi's talk on education way back in college. Although at the time i remember feeling weighed down by the prose. It takes a clear and open mind to ingest his insights on several spheres of human emotion from addiction to love.
I recently came across a much forgotten gem from the Krishnamurthi archives.
Trust me, its well worth the read.

no fear

Too early to tell or a sign of things to come?

I for one am, more often than not, left to choose between eating healthy and eating at all, mostly having to give up one for the other. But the fine folks at lifehack have come up with a pretty fine list of healthy easy-to-cook meals that may make my life simpler.

Its overwhelming when you think about how well the world is connected. I must have seen Alfie of We're not afraid.com on at least two major television networks, a few newspapers; his name mentioned on more blogs and sites than i can count. And all this within a few days of the chap going online with his spectacular project. Kudos my man! just the stuff we need.

hmm, this should be interesting. I do hope that there is more to it than a souped up special-effects spectacle. I am sure there is a message in there somewhere, no I am telling you...there is goddamnit.

babysteps

I had a party and everything on friday night. To celebrate my grand entrance into the world of the weblogs. Well i say party but it was more like a gathering of one. there was Apple Tango, however.

It is sunday evening and i havent a clue what to write. now, i'm worried.

Although i am not a newbie to the net, i am a little duckling when it comes to using it to voice my opinions. But the internet has given me so much over the many years that i have been on it , it was time to give something back.

I had two choices: to either become a nihilist or to start blogging. Considering that i had to look up what nihilist meant, i decided on the latter. I must say i couldnt have picked a better time to join the badwagon.
I am still searching for my niche though, my little contribution to the global conversation. in time i hope to find it.

for now i'll just be the little blog that could.

genesis

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

What is it about those lines that just grab you by the throat. Is it the way Jules delivers them in the movie or is it because there is just something about the way words can conquer.

My name is deep. This is my blog. Let me be the first to welcome you to a brave new world.
